About Us - What Is A WebRing?
A WebRing is a group of related Web sites that are linked together by a simple navigation system called a navigation bar or “NavBar.” The NavBar allows visitors to navigate quickly and easily to your Web site from others with similar content. An approved WebRing NavBar promotes visitor confidence in your Web site with the knowledge that they will remain safely on their topic of interest and not soon lost on some strange Web site in Cyber Space. WebRing can be a pleasant experience for both new Internet users as well as the more advanced.
The advantage of WebRings over Search Engines is the concentration of similar Web sites that enables visitors to find a wealth of information about almost any selected topic without endless Search Engine “hopping” with only a hope of finding what they are looking for. Internet users enjoy knowing where they are and are very satisfied with the quality they find by visiting an approved WebRing Web site. What Is A Ringmaster?
Ringmasters help to develop virtual Internet communities based on a Web site’s theme or subject matter. Also, a Ringmaster will determine the content, look and feel of their WebRing, approve and manage member sites, and encourage other Web sites to join. WebRings are created and maintained by individual Ringmasters, however a larger WebRing may use helpers from within the community to assist and help maintain the WebRing’s theme, navigation, and other standards of quality among its member Web sites. What is a NavBar and why do I need one on my Web site?
Because WebRings are based on the benefits of easy “navigation” from one Web site within the Ring to another, a very simple to install, “cut and paste” bit of HTML code is provided to each WebRing member. This code will cause a "navigation bar" to appear only on the registered page on which the code is placed.
Unlike other WebRings, ALL Townfriend WebRing NavBar links open in a NEW window so your Web page is never lost. In addition, the NavBar is NOT used to show ads, nor does it track the traffic in any other way to your Web site. All it does is display the correct links to your particular WebRing and its members, which gives your Web site far greater visibility than can be found among the endless and boring Search Engine listings. Plus, your WebRing membership is not only a great way to economically promote your business... WebRings are FUN! Townfriend WebRings, establishing friendships from town to town..

Arcade Machines Retro Dreams "Our WebRing is for people who love to built their own arcade machines or arcade controls that can be attached to a cabinet or stand-alone unite and for those who would like to learn how. Show off your handy work here and inspire others." Your visitors will enter your Web site on the page with the NavBar code. The NavBar code can be placed anywhere on your Web site, however the NavBar must be placed only on the Web page URL that you are registered with on that WebRing. This is important because WebRings with broken links will not work correctly. The better each Ring works, the more traffic you will see at your Web site.
